Friday Morning

I went on my wog this morning alone as Lori had some important family business to attend to, I'm thinking of you Lori, did the short wog instead of the long one. But I did it! I tend not to push myself as much when I'm alone, so the fact that I did it is a tribute to the guilt I would feel letting Lori down or the fear I have of her, lol. Just kidding it's a tribute to her dedication to me and me knowing that this is for me, she is taking all this time for me! She has a jogging group she can go with and at a much better speed and distance. That goes for the other Lori also, they both can out jog me but they continue to go slow and have regular breaks of walking so that I can go with them. Thanks Ladies and I WENT this morning with Dakota (Ozzie) we did it!

Fab Wog Yesterday

Lori E and I did the river wog and we started our 5 set earlier than we normally do in fact we finished it where we normally start it! We then did our 2 set and then we decided to do another 2 set as an extra just to increase a bit, we ended up jogging for 2 straight minutes! Then we did the bridge in 3.5 minutes! (we usually take 4 minutes) We were so pumped by the end nothing could stop us, we were Rocky at the top of the stairs! It was a great day!

Wednesday

Sorry Sue, I'm slowing down. We are going to try to go to Esterhazy this weekend since last weekend we didn't make it due to a snow storm. Only in Saskatechwan, shorts one day snow the next. It's always nice to go there because I know I can keep up the walking with Megan, she loves to go for a walk. Plus we will celebrate Dad's birthday finally. He is 70 so it's kind of a big one. He's a young old fart, still keeps busy, right now he is building a desk for Megan and Charissa's new place. Megan says it looks really nice, will have a look when we get down.

Sue is a friend who reads this blog daily and leaves comments that encourage me to continue going for it. (for those of you that don't know her). Thanks Sue

Saturday and Sunday I will be away and will make arrangements to walk one day and rest one day.
My trainer Lori Q says we will keep the 1-2 minutes and 5-2 reps this week again then look at moving up next week. We did the River (4 mile) wog on Sunday and we did our 7 reps then we did the 4 minute jog across the bridge, very hard for some reason, but once I am done I feel such a rush! I can't imagine what crossing a finish line will feel like.

We start out Sunday with a walk, our friends Kathy and Dan were down so we went for a walk down by a park in the area. Later this afternoon we go for our River wog. It is a beautiful day out today at 18 and it's only noonish. Can't wait to go!

Week 1 Complete

Well I have completed week 1. Lori and I have wogged 3 times this week with the third being amazing, we do 5 sets of 1-2 then walk for a bit then do 2 sets of 1-2 but on the last set of the evening we were on one of Saskatoon's many beautiful bridges and this one had just a slight decline so I felt alright to continue past the minute beep. I ended up jogging the entire bridge which took me 4 minutes! Yes I jogged 4 minutes straight! I felt good after and we finished off our walk in our best time yet, we cut 3 minutes off our time! What a night!

Week 1 (of 9)

This is week one of nine before the 10 kl. We have started wogging, with the jog 1 and walk 2 (1-2). It is going good, we do the 1-2 at least 3 times a week and walk 2-3 times a week. We are doing the River wog on Thursday. It is nice to go with all three of us, we have such a nice time together and these ladies know how to push me, but in a really nice way. I'm not one that is very competative but I do like to beat myself and I think they are the same so we aren't fighting for first place amoung ourselves just with ourself. All in all we are a great fit. I am aware that I am the weakest link in this lovely group but that is changing quickly. Right now I'm aiming for the best weakest link that I can be and not to make excuses but they are both more than 10 years younger than me. I know they will both say I'm doing great (for an old person) but I just want them to know that I appreciate everything that they are doing for me, by slowing down a bit when I get tired or laughing at me if I think I can beat a light and run in out in front of traffic. (he did stop though didn't he). These ladies are gems and whenever I do a better time or jog a longer distance a little bit of the credit is owed to them. Thanks Ladies. Dakota aka Ozzie thanks you too, I will weigh him and get pictures posted for Sue (he is really her dog) to show her how well I am taking care of him until she comes back!

I Wogged, Almost Jogged

We did our long walk yesterday and I wanted to start wogging so of course the Loris were happy to help, we starting with a 1-2 which is 1 minute of jogging and 2 minutes of walking, we did 5 sets of this (which is hard, thank goodness I have 13 months to train) then we walked for about 10 minutes then decided to do 2 more sets! 7 Sets! My first time out I did 7 sets. Lori Q says we will continue this set up for at least the next week and maybe a bit longer, then we will increase. I'm so excited.....I am Wogging!

River Walk

I love the river walks we go on, although I don't think we should call them walks, not jogging either. The ladies I walk with make me move, they are training for their own race and have to maintain a pace. It's nice though, we time ourselves and try to beat the time from the last walk, until we get up to jogging it. I should try some wogging tonight what the heck we start next week anyway. I will, just a bit tonight, it's cool here -4 so that will help with my over heating. I'll let you know how I did next week! I'm excited!

10kl Run count down

I am doing a 10 kl run in 89 days, nervous, in a word yes. Lori and I are wogging starting next week and where as I don't assume I will run the entire 10kl I would like to do more jogging than walking. But we have 9 weeks to train, so I should be alright, right? At this point I am focusing more on weight loss so I don't wreck my knees, therefore April is weight loss month for me! Full on, no excuses weight loss. So here's to a huge weight loss and to the start of wogging and to 9 weeks. The only sad thing is we lost Lori Q as a running mate, she is going to see her man! Way more important since they are getting married soon. Good news is we picked up my son, the jogger. Oh we are a team of 4 doing the 10kl in case I haven't mentioned that. If you are in the area come out and cheer us on! We'd love that! Our team is called "Busy Bodies" It is on June 8 it's called the Bridge City Boogie, there is a website with all the details, check it out.

April 1, 2008

I have claimed April as my month, in April I will: up my activity, lose more weight than the previous months and start wogging! Started early, yesterday Lori and I did our walk and we thought we didn't beat our time, (yes we time ourselves) but we did by 3 minutes, I guess we are just walking faster without even knowing it. Then Ernie and I played racketball for 50 minutes last night! Wow I feel good this morning. Oh yeah and we are already booked to do the River walk on Friday! I feel good danananananana you know that I do now danananananana.
