Starting Day 6

Day 6 of slimfast and all is well, haven't killed anyone yet and don't even feel like I want to! Was actually easier to do slimfast with the kids here as I wasn't worried how I would eat while trying to feed them! Look out Meg I feel a pedicure coming on!!!
(Meg and I have a competition going, one month most weight lost, winner gets a reward, my reward will be a pedicure, she will receive (NOT) an overnight babysitting!)
Slimfast I have your new slogan "Slimfast the busy woman's choice" it really was easier to just grab one and continue on with the kids! Although will have to plan for walks when the kids are here as they don't just happen.
Will go out with Ernie after work today, he starts his new job today, if he's not to tired we'll do a short jog, then walk and a movie with Margo tonight!

7 months to go!

We are down to 7 months until the race. My fund raising is over the half way mark, thankfully! We have 2 events planned presently, an old time dance where we will work the bar and an EE Burritos night, you know the supper, dancing, games and door prize kind of night. Can't wait both sound fun, maybe I'll get in a 7 step or a heel toe! Then salsa! Whooo Hooo!
Training is going to have to pick up as well since the closer we get the more I have to realize that I will have at least 2 really cold months where running will be hard at best. I have Margo and Don's treadmill in the basement but may have to breakdown and join the gym in town as my upper body is suffering, as I'm learning in yoga class. My legs are strong but any upper body movements are really hard. So will look into the gym today. Have a firm commitment from Ernie as he did the 10KM on the weekend and found out what shape he was in......... need I say more. Poor guy, but at least he is going to change that. He has committed to going everyday with me, so maybe I'll get him to the gym also.
See ya later.

What a Weekend!

We had a blast! First of all people ate my cooking with no complaints! Then we all tied balloons to arrows, then we went to bed and got up really early and walked/ran/wheeled between 5KM-32KM! I was very impressed, people were donating money, the other runners/walkers were waiting outside to cheer on the very last person coming in! IT WAS PERFECT! Even the weather was good. Then that evening we had a Wii tournment and found out Linda is a great boxer! I think a couple of the ladies are now hooked on Wii and I look forward to playing with them again!
Thanks everyone for a great weekend!

Sue would have cooked!

Sue just called to wish us good luck this weekend and to let me know that had she been here she would have cooked the supper tonight! I feel bad for all of you, she can really cook! I will make my best ever spaghetti and garlic toast for you all though! Thanks everyone for all the support!

Sue is keeping me on my toes!

Hi Sue and everyone! I am getting excited about this weekend, the friends from Saskatoon, the friends and family close by and the fund raising! I can't wait for it all, I am pumped! I do need Marla here to address the last minute things, Meg has been wonderful but we think to much alike so miss the same details. Everyone arrives Saturday then will stay until Monday morning, so will have help on Saturday with putting together the last little bits.
I have been getting in a lot of walking with Meg and Margo, plus we have added family walks which have been great. Ernie and I will get into 3:30 pm walks starting Sept 29, as he wants to get into shape too! We will likely walk for a couple of weeks then start jogging together, just like I always dreamed we would!
I will up date my facebook with photos of the weekend on either Monday or Tuesday so make sure you check it out.

This coming Sunday

This Sunday is the Walk/Run/Wheel for Arthritis, I am hoping to draw a good size crowd. I have advertized the heck out of it in Esterhazy and Melville papers and I have put posters in every shop in town! Right now I have about 20-30 coming which is good. Super good would be 50, so of course I will shoot for 50 but will be happy with whatever turn out there is! Mom had a bad night last night with Arthritis pain, which makes this more real, this is the first time she has ever backed out of golfing with me due to the pain. For those that don't know I am running in honour of my mom, who lives with Arthritis. Maybe I will get in a jog with Meg this afternoon. Then this evening is Yoga with Margo and maybe a walk after. Then I will check in on mom.

Have a great day everyone!

Thursday Morning up like a lark......

Ok so it's not quite the right words to the song, but I am up before the alarm (5:15 today) and feeling great! I am going walking with Margo, who is NOT my MORNING person friend, so I am appreciating the fact that she is up and willing to walk with me. I will tell her so when I see her! She has been out with me everyday that Meg is unable to go, even double walking some days if they both want to go. We are speed walking right now to get everyone at the same pace then back to jogging, funny thing is I think I walk faster than I jog.....lol scary! We are talking about golf on Saturday and a 10kl on Sunday, just for fun to time etc. I will do it and maybe: Meg, Margo and Ry, we'll see how everyone is feeling on Sunday!

Crazy Ladies

Ok I did 5kl with Meg yesterday morning and then Margo and I decided to walk up a hill (small but far) to see what was on the other side! Guess what, the other side of the hill! But I added 9kl to my daily total. Bit stiff last night but had a GREAT sleep so all in all was worth it.

6am Monday Morning

I am waiting for Meg to go Jogging and thinking about Sue and Dave, they are either getting ready or left by now to go back home. I was going to call them this weekend but I forgot how much time the kids take! we babysat this weekend and when you don't see them everyday you spend all your time with them. I will send Sue and Dave an email at home. It's going to be weird and good with Simone so close, Dave and Sue will come down more often, maybe even move here, anyone need a Gas Fitter/Plumber????? But until they move when they are visiting they have to spend time with family also. Laurie will share! Cool concept!

Anyway must run, lol literally!

Back from run and feel great!!!!!

Well we have been relaxing with a bit of walking, too much eating. Ahhhh that's what friends are for! We will try to find something to do today as it is a holiday here so nothing is open. Maybe tennis or golf or Yorkton???? For sure a walk! Tomorrow they are going back to Minot so it's our last day here, best enjoy it!
